Under Indian tax law, packing and moving services attract 18% GST classified under the “composite supply of services” that includes transportation and labor. Some registered companies include GST in their estimates. Others quote attractive “low” prices to reel you in and add GST only at the end.
Worse, unregistered or local movers may claim to offer a “no GST” price. This might seem like a win, but it means you’re dealing with a vendor who may not provide a valid invoice, putting you at risk in case of claims or damages.
Always ask:

Transit Insurance: Essential or Extra?
